Single source · Gulf of Oman (approximate) ·
The US says it destroyed an Iran-affiliated vessel in the Gulf of Oman, which it alleges was conducting surveillance and targeting US Navy ships. Sky News describes the target as an Iran surveillance vessel, and Drop Site News relays a CENTCOM statement describing an Iranian-linked surveillance vessel. The claims give no casualty figures, and every report relays the US account without independent evidence.

Sources disagree on:
- Vessel description differs: AP says Iran-affiliated boat, Sky News says Iran surveillance vessel, and Drop Site (CENTCOM) says Iranian-linked surveillance vessel.
- Timing is unclear: AP is dated 2026-10-14 while Middle East Eye (2026-10-15) says the strike was 'last week', so the date of the incident is not fixed by the claims.
