Iran's foreign ministry, through spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, condemns territorial claims by the UAE and Canada over Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb islands, which it says are an inseparable, eternal part of Iranian territory. Tasnim News reports the claims were made in a joint statement by the Abu Dhabi crown prince and the Canadian prime minister, and Baqaei calls Canada's action a violation of the UN Charter. All four reports relay this Iranian statement, and no other party has confirmed or denied it.
