The Iranian navy, as relayed by one Telegram channel, says the Strait of Hormuz is closed to ships passing without coordination and that vessels must coordinate with Iran's armed forces for safe passage. 8AM Media, relaying an Iranian military official, reports a threat against vessels transiting the strait. Both reports rest on the same Iranian official statement and neither has been confirmed or denied by another party.
