The IRGC Quds Base ground force says it dismantled a team that had kidnapped an engineer in the Kurin area of Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan, killing five of its members and freeing the captive. Tasnim News relays the claim in two Telegram posts citing the IRGC, and one version says one IRGC fighter was also killed in the clash.

Sources disagree on:
- The two Tasnim posts differ on whether an IRGC fighter died: one says one Revolutionary Guard fighter was also killed, the other reports only the five kidnappers killed.
- The freed captive is called an engineer in one post and an unspecified kidnapped person in the other.
- The attacked group is described as a kidnapping team linked to a terrorist group in one post and as Jaish al-Zolm militants in the other.
- The two posts give different reported times (10:29 UTC and 12:40 UTC), though both place the occurrence at about 08:30 UTC.
