An Israeli strike on an apartment in Gaza City near Al-Shifa Hospital killed two people in the early hours of 20 October 2026, according to medics and several outlets; medics name the victims as Akram Yassin and his wife Dina Abu Baker. The IDF says it struck in Gaza City and killed Akram Bassam Shaaban Yassin, a senior official in Hamas's General Security Service. Sources differ on the side of Al-Shifa where the building lay and on the weapon (airstrike, helicopter or shelling), but they agree the attack happened.

Details by origin
Each detail, with the independent origins that reported it. An origin is the outlet or channel where a claim first appeared; reposts count once. A row counts no more independent origins than the event does above; where it lists more, it says so. This counts reports: it is not a measure of accuracy, and it does not change the event's status. "Reports differ" means two origins gave values that cannot both be true; it is about that detail, not about whether the incident happened.
