Disputed · Fanar, Lebanon · 2026-10-19 09:38 UTC

A single X post relays Lebanese officials' denial of an MTV report of a Hezbollah security tunnel in Roueissat/Fanar (Nabatieh, Lebanon). According to the officials, the excavation is a hole dug by treasure hunters. The post also says Fanar's mayor states that initial findings suggest a tunnel is being dug.

Sources disagree on:

• Lebanese officials say the excavation is a hole dug by treasure hunters, while Fanar's mayor says initial findings suggest a tunnel is being dug.
• The MTV report alleges a Hezbollah security tunnel; Lebanese officials deny it. The MTV report itself is not among the listed claims and is known only through this post.
