Iranian police and state-aligned media report that a police officer was killed in an armed attack by unidentified gunmen in Saravan County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, early on 3 November 2026. Police sources name the officer as Third Lieutenant Hojjat Vafakardeh (spelled Vafakarde in one statement), a criminal investigation police detective, and say he was shot as he left his home; the initial toll is one killed. Press TV says the attack was carried out by a terrorist group it describes as affiliated with the United States and Israel, while the police describe the attackers only as unknown individuals.

Details by origin
Each detail, with the independent origins that reported it. An origin is the outlet or channel where a claim first appeared; reposts count once. A row counts no more independent origins than the event does above; where it lists more, it says so. This counts reports: it is not a measure of accuracy, and it does not change the event's status. "Reports differ" means two origins gave values that cannot both be true; it is about that detail, not about whether the incident happened.
