Houthi forces, per Brig. Gen. Saree's statement carried by Saba and relayed by Tasnim, PressTV and several X accounts, say they shot down a Saudi reconnaissance drone over Hajjah, Yemen, on 17-18 October 2026. Saba and some relays call it a Karayel drone, Tasnim calls it a Karyar spy-armed drone and one post calls it Turkish-made; the claims give no independent confirmation and no Saudi response.

Unverified: 1 independent source.
Sources disagree on:
- Drone type differs by source: Saba, one ME_Observer post and bonzerbarry say Karayel reconnaissance; Tasnim says Karyar spy-armed; PressTV says armed reconnaissance; a second ME_Observer post says Turkish-made without naming a type.
- Saba's record lists Saudi Arabia as the attacker while its text says Houthi forces shot the drone down; bonzerbarry's record lists the Houthis as the actor. This is a field-level wording mismatch, not a dispute over what happened.
- No Saudi statement appears in the claims, so the ownership and the Saudi identity of the drone rest only on the Houthi side.
