Confirmed: Jordan strikes sites in southern Syria's Daraa countryside after Karak church attack

Confirmed · Daraa, Syria · 2026-10-26

Jordan's military says its air force struck militant hideouts in southern Syria, in response to the Karak church attack, and Syria confirms Jordanian strikes in Daraa province without prior coordination. Syria says the Nasib border crossing was closed afterwards. Death tolls differ by source: Reuters, via Haaretz, reports five killed, the Daraa province health department reports 10 killed and 4 wounded, and Syrian authorities say at least six to seven were killed.

Details by origin

Each detail, with the independent origins that reported it. An origin is the outlet or channel where a claim first appeared; reposts count once. A row counts no more independent origins than the event does above; where it lists more, it says so. This counts reports: it is not a measure of accuracy, and it does not change the event's status. "Reports differ" means two origins gave values that cannot both be true; it is about that detail, not about whether the incident happened.
