About
How this is measured
Each hour, the traffic from Oman to Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare Radar) is compared with the same hour a week earlier. 80% of usual or more reads near usual, 50 to 80% reduced, 15 to 50% a severe drop and under 15% a near-total drop. When the reading is old or too thin the page says so and never shows it as normal. Methodology.
What it cannot tell you
It measures how much traffic reached Cloudflare from the country, not why it changed: a shutdown, a cable cut, a power cut, a holiday and a problem in Cloudflare's own data all look alike. Cloudflare Radar's own outage list is shown beside it, and sitmap.live gives a cause only where Radar names one.
Exact rules
A new level counts only after 2 hours in a row, so one odd hour changes nothing.
There is no current reading when the newest hour is more than 3 hours old, when Radar has too little data for the hour, or when the same hour a week earlier was itself far below usual and cannot be a yardstick.
Traffic to one provider is a sample of a country's internet, not all of it, and the reading is hours old by the time it is published: it says how the last complete hour looked.
Cloudflare Radar's hourly figures are read about every 20 minutes and reach this page an hour or two after each hour ends; the page is rebuilt from the stored figures at most every few minutes.
